i just bought a 10 gal aquarium and the filter is very noisy. i was wondering if it would be fine to turn it off at night and keep it running during the day.

I set up a 55 gallon aquarium last month, and I have the filter and heater running constantly. That's the only thing that I can think of that's different. My electric bill went from $110 to $345 last month.

I have recently moved and have my 25 gallon aquarium to fill. I am interested in reptiles. I am wondering what I should put in there. I would like it to be less maintenance than fish and for it to not outgrow the aquarium. It would also need to be not ridiculously expensive.

I'm looking for good quality, inexpensive rocks and driftwood for my freshwater aquarium. I don't really know what qualifies as inexpensive, though. In local fish stores, I see slate and granite for about $1.29/lb., and small-to-medium sized driftwood for up to $30. Can anyone think of a better place to look for this stuff where it's cheaper than a retail fish shop? I'm in Austin, TX, so local places would...

i keep reading that humidity must be maintained in an aquarium occupied by an exotic animal (lizard, spider, etc.) question is, how do i do that exactly. i often read, spray water with a mist bottle into the aquarium, but to me that just sounds like moistening the substrate and getting the decorations wet. can someone help me with creating humidity? what am i doing wrong? i have a lid for the aquarium, but portions...

All I want is the 75 gallon all glass aquarium and lighted hood, no extras. I want these both to be new. Also I would like to know the price of a 75 gallon acrylic aquarium. What about plexi glass. How much for the aquarium and how much for the hood?

Okay here goes. I have an aquarium with no lid but I will find one very soon. Here is what I have so far, a 10 to 15 gallon aquarium(rectangle) and a lot of tiny rocks for the floor( not as tiny but pretty big enough). So what are all the supplies needed for a tropical aquarium. And if you can name some brands for easy access. Thank You.

What do I need to convert a Goldfish (black moor) from a 2 gallon aquarium to a 10 gallon aquarium? I have a large amount of gravel, water dechlorinater, and lots of food.
The aquarium I am getting has a filter, heater, hood, lights, thermometer, and a net.
Any other chemichals, tests, anything?

I put a Aqua Glo bulb (15 watt) in my aquarium of guppies, neon tetras, etc...I had it on last night & noticed that the fish didn't seem to be as bright in color as they used to. Could they be fading? The water was a little cloudy because I'd just put in some waste control & it says it can fog the water for a bit. So could that be it or maybe my eyes playing tricks on me? Thanks!

I bought some "aquarium plants" from a local store here. The lady doesn't know what kind they are. They are long and skinny and have leaves going all the way around. I put them in my turtle tank and they love them! But I am wondering
1. What kind of plant this is? Similar plants they will eat?
2. How can I grow them at home?
