The Visi-therm Stealth heater is exactly what I was looking for. The temperature is adjustable with a red adjustment knob marked in actual degrees F (so no more wondering exactly what 7 or 8 means on a numbered dial). In my 40 gallon freshwater planted tank the temp hasn’t fluctuated more than one degree since I put it in. You couldn’t ask for easier installation; the only almost difficult part was putting the rubber suction cup on the heater brackets. This fully submersible heater disappeared against the black background in my aquarium except for its red adjustment knob.

This is the first aquarium heater that I’ve owned that is accurate. Only flaw is the lack of an on/off indicator.

My wimpy 100w heater that came in a kit with my 29-gallon aquarium could BARELY keep the water warm enough… I bought this one based on the user reviews + price. It is great! Within an hour, this heater brought the water temp up to where it should be, and I have not had to adjust it at all. Yes, I do wish it had a little light on it so I “know” it’s on and working, but it is a great product. And the black color works well ~ for some reason, it seems even less obtrusive to the eye than the clear glass kind. Definitely recommended, and you can’t beat the price!

I have a 30 gallon tank outside…. This heater keeps the temp real high, even outside…. I have no complaints about it’s working ability. I would recomend this to anyone who needs to heat a large tank of water.

This heater is rated to 200 gallons and I have it in a 25 gallon tank. However it has trouble keeping the tank at anything over 68 degrees in a 55 degree ambient temperature basement.

I went through so many heaters in the past few years. This is by far the best. I had to keep my tank water at 86F for the discus and heaters are most important thing for doing so.
The only thing I want to improve is there is no light to indicate the heater is working, like so many other heaters. I have to check tank water temp all the time to make sure there is nothing wrong.

I have the 50 watt, 15 gallon, version, but nonetheless it is the same exact model and brand.
This is hands down THE BEST heater ever. It keeps the water at a very consistent temperature (+/- 1F). It has an easy dial to set your temperature with the degrees written on it instead of those other heaters that you keep have to keep adjusting to get it just right. I bought one of those cheap $10 glass ones hoping it would do, but it sucked so i ended up getting this one which was a little pricier, but well worth it. It is very well made and has a LIFETIME warrenty.
If you are looking for a great, quality aquarium heater GET THIS HEATER!!
P.S….Dont get those cheap glass ones, they are of really bad quality and do not last.

I bought one of these heaters 2 years ago. It was working fine so bought another 6 months later. The first one stopped working 6 months ago, the second one stopped working this month. Also it does not have a light so you can see if it is working.

works really good, have it set for 75 and my therm. always says 75, one drawback is theres no light or anything to actually let you know its working…i assume it is. lol but would be nice if there was a light that went on and off when it was heating…or even plugged in at that

The short version:
Pros:
- Completely encased in a non reflective black plastic sheath
- Durable design
- Easy to use tempurature gauge
- Completely Submersible
- Light weight
- Never have to worry about acciently dinging it on a rock or side of the tank
- Heats very efficiently
Cons:
- No indicator light to see if it’s on or off
I’d recommend the stealth heater if your room tempurate is generally close to the tempurate that youre aquarium needs to be, or the fish in there are hardy enough to endure tempurate changes. I’d also recommend this heater if you’re using more than 1 heater to heat your tank, since should one in the unlike event fails to work, you’ll have a 2nd one working until you get replace it.
The only drawback is, there is no indicator light to tell if it’s on or off at a glance, you’ll need to monitor your thermometer.
I don’t recommend this heater if it’s your only heater and you know the tempurate in your aquarium will drop due to climate/weather/season, or have fish that are very sensitive to tempurate change.
Almost too stealthy.
