What else can you really say about a tank heater other than it works. It keeps my plant tank at a very consistent temperature. Would definitely buy another if necessary.

This heater is a nice dark black, so it blends in with all the stuff in your aquarium, It also doesent have any lights, witch could be good or bad,
depending on if it stops working . But so far it hasent! (thats makes it even more invisable.)

So again, totaly blends in, Shatter Proof, and aparently submersable, as it has several times in my tank

When you first open it up, it smells of toxic plastic, i would recomend washing it with warm soaopy water and cloth before
exposing it to your fishies.

good buy!
Rating
This is a great heater. I use two of them in a 150 gallon aquarium with a 500 Watt heater of a different manufacturer. I also use several of these in smaller sizes in other aquariums.

I like the black color. It looks good in the aquarium compared with a lot of heaters on the market; however, it is hard if not impossible to tell if there are any problems with the heater.

I have had many heaters in the past and they have all failed by letting water inside the heater. With a glass heater it is easy to tell if there is any condensation inside the heater. I am afraid that these heaters may fail and I will be unable to tell until it is too late.

Not sure about the manufacturer's claim of high quality of the product. After one year, during one of my water changes in the tank as the level of water got lower so that the good half of the filter was emersed above its level, it started to overheat which resulted in the bumps popping up in the middle section as a result of outer shelf melting. Immideately turned it off as a source of the life hazard. The product as decribed in manual, should automatically shut itself off should it get emersed of the water. Ironically enough all my old heaters (supposed to be lower quality products, therefore they are cheaper) are still working. Now have very little trust in the quality of the product, Which is EXTREMELY important to any aquarium hobbist.

pretty decent, but the product states it is within a degree; it's more like 3 or 4 degrees

Great aquarium heater at a great price! Maintains constant temp very well. I will never buy another breakable glass heater - this one will not shatter.

One of the best heaters i have worked with. Put in a 55Gallon tank and it keeps the temperature at a steady 80 degrees all day long. It also has the ability to change the temperature lower or higher with a shut off switch. Finnaly the automatic turn off feature when it is above water is a life saver for water changes!
