Hi,
I have the same problem, I clean out the whole 4ft tank clean every thing to re start. Top-up fresh tap water, place all the filter and fired up the water pump. Water look crystal clear the first day. Tomorrow the water turn a hint of pink.
So far I have not seen this happening before. All my filter did not leach or have any red color. And I have not put any fish in it yet. (wanted to let the water stabilized for a week first.)
Just crazy.... After a few day it still stay a hint of pink. So I decided to add 1 fish to the pink water. Until now for a few day the fish look good, swim well, eat well, no sign of stress.
The store ask me to re-change all water, but it a hassle and alot of water to waste.
sign.... :(
Any Advice?
James.

my aquarium water is a pinkish colour upon changing. i'm not sure if it's due to the flakes, the waste products of goldfish or some technical levels with filtration, but i get that too with my indoor aquarium. ... I do a 50% h2o change every two weeks to keep it clear, but it usually returns.

It's the type of algae growing in the water. OR you have something red in the aquarium that wears off into the water....but I'd bet it's algae.
